Sound familiar?

Maybe the afternoon sun makes one room uncomfortable. Maybe your patio door takes two hands to move, or you have noticed water around a window after rain. You may simply be ready for cleaner lines and a home that feels more like you.

Agave Windows is a Las Vegas window and door company providing product selection and installation for homeowners who want better comfort, a different look, or a solution to aging windows and doors. We help you connect the right replacement with the work needed to install it properly. Tell us what you want to change, and we can help you work through the options.

First, your goals

Start With What You Want Your Windows and Doors to Do

A successful project starts with the reason behind it. A replacement selected mainly for its appearance may not address the heat you feel beside the glass. A new door may need more than a different panel if the frame, threshold, or surrounding opening is part of the problem.

Think about the rooms you use most, the times of day they feel uncomfortable, and the parts of your current windows or doors that frustrate you. Those details help us discuss the project in terms of your home rather than a standard package.

too hot?

Make the Rooms You Use More Comfortable

If sunlight pours into a living room or bedroom, compare the proposed glass performance alongside frame style and color. Existing shade, window size, and orientation all affect the decision. Efficient products can help manage heat transfer, but window replacement alone does not explain every comfort problem in a house.

tired of the look?

Refresh the Look of Your Home

Frame proportions, sightlines, glass, grids, and hardware change how a window or door looks from both sides. A useful starting point is deciding what you want to preserve: the character of the exterior, the view from inside, or consistency with windows you are keeping. Then compare options against those priorities.

sticking, drafty, leaking?

Address Wear, Difficult Operation, or Leaks

Sticking operation, damaged frames, persistent drafts, and moisture deserve a closer look. Similar symptoms can have different causes. The goal is to identify whether the concern involves the product, its installation, or the surrounding opening so the proposed work addresses the actual issue.

Three ways in

Explore Windows, Patio Doors, and Entry Doors

Agave brings product selection and installation into the same conversation. We consider what you want to change alongside the condition of the opening, so you can compare a complete project. Start with one of these three categories.

White-framed replacement windows on a home exterior

Replacement Windows

Replacement windows can update appearance, operation, and energy performance. The right combination depends on the condition of the existing opening, how you use the room, and the features that matter most to you.

Compare the frame, glass package, operating style, and installation approach together. A material name by itself tells you less than the specifications for the actual window being proposed. Also consider how much clear glass remains and how a replacement will meet your interior trim and exterior finish.

Patio Doors

A patio door affects everyday movement as much as the view. Think about furniture near the opening, the direction of travel, the space available for operation, and how you use the patio beyond it.

Sliding and hinged arrangements solve different space needs. Larger opening systems introduce additional decisions about panel placement, thresholds, and the existing wall. Before choosing a style from a photo, establish what can fit and what installation work the change would involve.

Front entry door of a home

Entry Doors

Your front door is part of the exterior design and something you use every day. Along with color and style, consider privacy, glass area, hardware, weather exposure, and how the door feels when it closes and locks.

The condition of the frame and threshold matters, too. Replacing a door within an existing arrangement is a different project from changing the opening or adding glass beside it. A clear scope helps you compare the complete result you want at the entrance.

Two numbers worth asking for

Choose for Las Vegas Heat, Daylight, and Daily Use

U-factor

Describes heat transfer. Lower means less heat transfer.

SHGC

Solar heat gain coefficient. Lower means less solar heat passes through.

In Las Vegas, the way a window or glazed door handles sunlight deserves attention. Two products that look similar can have different performance ratings. Ask for the rating information for the exact product and glass configuration in your proposal.

The National Fenestration Rating Council, or NFRC, provides a framework for comparing window and door performance. Two useful measures are U-factor, which describes heat transfer, and solar heat gain coefficient, or SHGC, which describes how much solar heat passes through the product. Lower values indicate less heat transfer or solar heat gain for those respective measures. Our guide to U-factor and SHGC shows how to read them on a proposal.

Low-E coatings are another part of the discussion, but the label alone does not tell you everything. Glass choices should make sense for the exposure and the room. Daylight, views, privacy, and the surrounding building also matter. Compare the whole product rather than assuming one frame material or pane count is automatically the best choice.

We use the room's exposure and your priorities to guide that discussion. A bright living room and a shaded bedroom may call for different choices. The goal is a product selection that makes sense for the opening; the effect on utility use depends on your home and the specifications you choose.

The part behind the glass

Look at the Opening as Carefully as the Product

A window or door connects to the rest of your home. The condition of that connection helps determine the installation approach, the finish work, and the questions that should be answered before work starts.

flashing, sealing, drainage: ask about all three
01

Existing Frames and Surrounding Finishes

On a home with stucco, a useful question is how the proposed installation will meet the existing exterior. Will the existing frame remain? Will removal disturb stucco or interior finishes? Which repairs, trim, paint, or texture work are included in the scope?

Those questions also matter inside. Blinds, shutters, casing, flooring, and nearby furniture can affect planning. Identifying these details early helps you compare proposals that may otherwise appear to cover the same replacement.

02

Air Sealing and Water Management

Installation should follow the applicable product instructions and account for the wall assembly. Air sealing and water management have different jobs. A neat line of sealant is not enough to describe how the opening will handle water, and intended drainage paths must remain functional.

If you have seen staining or water near an opening, describe when it happens and provide photos if available. The source needs to be evaluated; replacing a unit should not be presented as a guaranteed cure for an unrelated wall or roof leak.

03

Changes to Size or Configuration

Making an opening wider or changing a window into a door adds questions beyond product selection. Wall structure, utilities, elevations, and finish work can affect feasibility. Applicable approvals and any needed design or engineering should be identified before the work is priced as a simple replacement.

If you are considering a layout change, mention it in your project request. It helps distinguish an existing-opening replacement from a project that needs further planning.

Four steps, in order

What Working With Agave Windows Looks Like

We connect your priorities with the product details and installation scope, then work through the decisions in a practical order. You do not need professional measurements or a finished product list to get started.

  1. Tell Us About the Project

Send your location, the approximate number of openings, and what you want to improve. Photos are helpful, especially if you are concerned about damage or considering a different configuration. Let us know whether you want to keep the existing sizes and whether you have HOA design requirements to work within.

  2. Review the Openings and Product Options

We discuss your priorities and assess the details that affect product selection and installation. Measurements, the existing condition, exterior and interior finishes, and access all help define the project. If you are planning a change in size, we identify the additional questions that need to be resolved before treating it as a replacement order.

  3. Define the Work in Writing

The proposal identifies the products and agreed installation scope so you can understand what the project includes. Glass configuration, frame finish, removal, disposal, surrounding finish work, and exclusions should be clear. Applicable permit responsibilities and the approach to unexpected conditions also belong in the project discussion.

  4. Coordinate Installation and Review the Result

Once the selections and scope are settled, we coordinate the next steps around product availability and your home. Before work starts, we discuss access and preparation. At completion, we review the installed products, operation, visible finish, and care information with you. Ordering time and work at the property are separate parts of the schedule.

A Clear Plan for Your Home and Your Budget

Serving homeowners in Las Vegas

Replacing everything at once is not the only way to think about a project. If some openings are more urgent than others, bring that up early. We can discuss your priorities and how the first replacements will relate to windows or doors you may keep longer. Our guide to whole-house and phased replacement compares the two.

For a mixed project, identify which products should visually match and which spaces have different needs. A front-facing window may be important to the exterior design, while a patio door may need to work around furniture and daily traffic. That room-by-room information helps make the scope more useful than a count of openings alone.

Tell us about pets, access limitations, work-from-home hours, or rooms that need special coordination. We want those practical details included in planning, along with the products you choose.

Review product coverage and installation coverage separately before committing. The written terms should identify who handles a claim, what is covered, and applicable exclusions. Keep those documents with your proposal and product information so you have a clear record of the project. The window warranty guide explains what to look for.

Questions About Working With Agave Windows

What does Agave Windows do?

Agave Windows provides windows and doors with installation for homeowners in Las Vegas. Projects can begin with a comfort concern, difficult operation, aging components, or a change in appearance. Describe what you want to improve so we can discuss suitable products and the work your opening may need.

Is Agave Windows licensed, insured, and bonded?

Yes. Agave Windows is licensed, insured, and bonded. Your written proposal will identify the contracting business and applicable Nevada contractor license information. We can also discuss the documentation you need for your project before work begins.

Can I replace just a few windows or one door?

You can discuss an individual opening or a group of replacements with us. The useful question is which scope fits your needs, the condition of the existing products, and your plans for the rest of the home. If you may replace more later, consider appearance and future product availability when choosing the first group.

How do I know which windows are suitable for Las Vegas heat?

Compare the exact product's U-factor and SHGC, then consider the opening's sunlight exposure, shade, size, and use. Frame appearance and pane count alone do not establish performance. A product discussion is more useful when it starts with the rooms and conditions you want to improve.

Does foggy glass mean I need a completely new window?

Not necessarily. Moisture on a room-side or outdoor glass surface is different from moisture trapped between sealed panes. The location of the moisture, the condition of the frame, and the type of glass assembly affect the options. Have the cause evaluated before assuming every foggy window needs full replacement.

What if my window or door leaks during rain?

Make a note of where water appears and when it happens, and take photos if possible. The product, installation details, and surrounding building can all be relevant. The source should be evaluated so the proposed work addresses it; a new window or door is not a blanket guarantee against every nearby leak.

Will my project need a permit or HOA approval?

Requirements depend on the property, the responsible jurisdiction, and the work proposed. Changing an opening can raise different questions from replacing a unit in its existing arrangement. An HOA may also have its own design process. Identify the applicable requirements and responsibilities before ordering products or beginning work.

Can I get an accurate price from a photograph?

A photo helps explain the project, but it does not establish final dimensions, the condition of concealed areas, or the complete installation scope. Use photos to start the conversation. A proposal should identify the products and work on which the price is based, along with any assumptions or exclusions.

How long does window or door replacement take?

The schedule depends on the products, number of openings, installation approach, and any approvals or additional work involved. Product ordering time and time working at your home are different parts of the schedule. Ask for both when reviewing the project, rather than relying on a general installation-time claim.
