Window and Door Repair in Las Vegas
A window that will not stay open, a damaged glass unit and a patio door that drags need different kinds of attention. Start by describing what is happening. Agave Windows can review the request, identify the relevant repair category and discuss the next step for your opening.
You do not need to name the failed part. A photo of the complete window or door, a close-up of the concern and a short description of its behavior are useful starting points. Include any manufacturer information you can photograph without taking the assembly apart.

Window operation and hardware
Use the window-repair path for a sash that sticks, will not remain in position, fails to latch or has damaged operating hardware. The assessment focuses on the existing assembly and compatible components. A hardware symptom should be evaluated before assuming the entire window needs replacement. For air leaks, see our drafty window repair-or-replace guide.
Tell us how the window moves, when the problem started and whether it affects opening, closing or locking. If the sash feels unstable, stop using it until it can be assessed.
Broken or deteriorated glazing
Use glass replacement for a cracked pane, damaged glazing or persistent moisture believed to be between sealed panes. The existing frame and the glass construction help determine whether a glass-only or another component approach is appropriate.
Moisture on an indoor or outdoor surface is different from moisture trapped inside an insulated glass unit. Pella's condensation guidance explains that distinction. Describe where you see it rather than assuming every foggy appearance has the same cause. Our window condensation location guide compares them.

Sliding patio-door problems
Use sliding-door repair for a glass panel that drags, moves unevenly, does not close correctly or has a latch concern. Rollers and tracks are part of that assessment, along with the panel and frame. The visible symptom does not identify the failed component by itself, as our guide to why sliding doors are hard to open explains.
Tell us whether the problem affects the heavy glass door, the separate insect screen or both. A screen roller and a glass-panel roller are different parts and should not be confused in a repair request.

Torn or poorly fitting window screens
Use screen repair for damaged mesh, loose retention or a screen frame that no longer fits. The next step depends on whether the existing frame can be reused and which components suit the window.
An insect screen is not a fall-prevention device. CPSC advises families not to rely on screens to keep children from falling through open windows. Read CPSC's window-safety guidance.
What to include in the request
Begin with the property location, number of affected openings and a complete photo of each window or door. Then add a close-up of the damage and any accessible product label. A whole-opening view shows whether the problem belongs to a moving sash, fixed glass, screen or patio-door panel; an isolated latch photograph often leaves that unanswered.
Use the main symptom to choose a request category, then list any second concern against the same opening:
| What you observe | Start with | Also mention |
|---|---|---|
| Sash drops or will not latch | Window operation repair | Whether the frame or glass is damaged |
| Crack or moisture trapped within sealed glass | Glass replacement assessment | Whether the window also binds or leaks around its perimeter |
| Glazed patio panel drags | Sliding glass door repair | Where resistance occurs and whether it locks |
| Torn mesh or loose screen frame | Screen repair | Missing clips, bent corners or a screen that no longer fits |
For example, a bedroom window with fogged glass and a broken latch is one opening with two concerns. Describing both lets the assessment consider whether a glazing repair and hardware repair are compatible with the retained assembly. Selecting “fogged glass” alone could leave the locking issue outside the proposed work.
Include previous repairs and say plainly if an opening cannot close or secure. You do not need to diagnose a failed component, remove a panel or measure concealed parts. The request should establish the next assessment, not commit a custom order from a photograph. When you request a repair assessment, ask what the appointment covers and whether a charge applies.
Repair scope should be clear before work begins
A useful repair proposal identifies the affected opening, the work to be performed and the components being supplied. It should say which conditions remain outside the repair and whether further assessment could change the recommendation.
If the proposed work addresses operation, it should not be presented as a guarantee against an unrelated wall leak. If it replaces glass, it should not silently include a promise to restore damaged framing. Ask for each concern to be matched to a specific action.
Parts availability, existing condition and the intended result affect whether repair is a practical option. When a supported component repair is not appropriate, discuss the reason and any replacement alternative, such as replacement windows or a new sliding glass door, as a separate scope.
Prepare for an assessment
Keep the opening accessible and arrange a separate area for children and pets. Photograph the condition from a stable, ordinary standing position. Do not lean outside an upper-story opening or move a heavy glass panel to expose a label.
Avoid releasing sash-support hardware or repeatedly forcing a binding door. If glass is broken or unstable, keep people away and describe the condition during intake. Tell us if the opening cannot be secured, then confirm the available appointment and interim arrangements with us directly.
Bring any existing proposal or prior repair description to the discussion. It can show what has already been changed and prevent a new assessment from assuming that all components are original.

Whether the concern is movement, glass, locking or a screen, describe what has changed and what you need the opening to do. Agave Windows can help connect that information to the appropriate repair discussion.
things people ask us
Frequently Asked Questions
Do I need to know the window brand before requesting repair?
No. Share a label or marking if you can photograph it safely, but begin with the complete opening and symptom. Product identification may be needed before compatible parts can be specified.
Will a repair request automatically become a replacement quote?
The request should begin with the repair concern. If a supported repair is not practical, ask for the reason and a separately described replacement option so you can understand the scope difference. See our comparison of glass replacement and complete window replacement.
Still have a question about your home?
Ask us directly. A quick description of the opening is enough.
